There is no absolute requirement for a specific degree to become a Chief of Staff in Sweden, but an academic background in economics, technology, or management is highly advantageous. Employers often value a combination of relevant education and practical experience. A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Engineering are most common, but other degrees may also be relevant if the candidate has the right experience and leadership skills. The most important thing is to be able to demonstrate strategic thinking, project management skills, and the ability to navigate flat, consensus-driven organizations. Many CoS have also supplemented their education with certifications or further training in leadership, project management, or change management.
