To establish an effective EA governance structure in a Swedish company, the Chief of Staff (CoS) should initiate an EA board or steering group with representatives from both the IT and business sides. It is important to include key personnel from different business areas to ensure broad buy-in and consensus. The steering group is responsible for setting guidelines, prioritizing initiatives, and monitoring how the EA work supports the organization’s strategy and complies with legal requirements such as GDPR. In Sweden, it is common to work with transparent processes, regular meetings, and scenario analyses to evaluate different architectural options. The CoS should also use tools like EAAT (developed at KTH) to model and analyze the system landscape. By promoting open dialogue and involving employees in the decision-making process, a governance structure is created that is adapted to the Swedish leadership culture and drives long-term change.
