Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a structured methodology for describing, analyzing, and managing an organization’s business processes, information flows, IT systems, and technologies. For a Chief of Staff (CoS), EA is particularly relevant because it enables a holistic view of how the organization’s strategy, processes, and technology interact. By using EA, CoS can identify and manage dependencies between different business areas, ensure that IT investments support business goals, and create transparency around change initiatives. In Swedish organizations, where consensus and flat hierarchies are central, EA helps visualize complex relationships and facilitate dialogue between management, IT, and the business. EA is also used to ensure compliance with laws such as GDPR and to support digitalization strategies. For CoS, this means that one can act as a bridge between strategy and operational activities, drive change and create long-term value by ensuring that all parts of the organization work towards common goals.
