In Sweden, the role of Chief of Staff is still dominated by men, especially in the private sector and among larger companies. However, statistics from the Allbright Foundation and the SCB show that the gender gap is decreasing, and the proportion of women in leadership positions is steadily increasing. In the public sector and in associations, the gender distribution is more equal, with approximately 46 % women in managerial positions. In private companies, the proportion of female CoS and management positions is lower, but the trend is towards increased equality. Many Swedish companies are actively working on diversity and inclusion, and see equal gender distribution as a strategic advantage.
