A typical Chief of Staff in Sweden has between 5 and 12 years of work experience after graduation. The role requires a balance between operational experience and strategic maturity, which means that candidates are often in the beginning to middle of their careers. Most have already worked in several different roles, often within project management, strategy or consulting, before taking the step to become a Chief of Staff. Experience of leading teams, driving change projects and working closely with the management team is particularly valuable. Many CoS also have experience from different industries or sectors, which provides a broad understanding of business and organizational development.
