An MBA, especially from Stockholm School of Economics (SSE MBA) or other Swedish universities, is often an advantage for Chiefs of Staff, especially in larger companies or international corporations. MBA programs provide in-depth knowledge in strategy, leadership, and business development, as well as a valuable network. International MBA programs, such as INSEAD, are common, but Swedish employers often prefer a local degree combined with an MBA. However, an MBA is rarely a requirement, but seen as a complement to a basic education in economics or engineering. For CoS roles with global responsibilities or in multinational companies, an international MBA can be particularly valuable, as it signals the ability to work in different cultures and lead complex change projects.
